Unfortunately we didn’t get to spend Christmas at Walt Disney World this year, but luckily Disney is in the Christmas spirit all year round. You can buy Christmas ornaments pretty much anywhere on property. Our favorite is the Days of Christmas store in Disney Springs. Let’s take a tour of some of the ornaments you can bring home with you from your next Walt Disney World vacation!
We don’t really buy as many souvenirs as we used to when we first started going to the Disney parks. These days we save for a splurge at the Character Warehouse outlet stores or just hit an Orlando-area Target or Walmart for a few things. One thing we will still spend money on, however, is Disney artwork.
We recently spent three nights at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa at Walt Disney World. It was our first stay at this resort, and in a nutshell, we loved it!
It’s official: our year as Walt Disney World annual passholders is officially over. In total we spent 30 days on property over our 3 trips in April 2017, November 2017, and April 2018. We had many new experiences including running in our first ever runDisney races. We spent Thanksgiving day at Walt Disney World. We did the fantastic Marceline to Magic Kingdom tour. I was pulled onstage at the Spirit of Aloha dinner show. We went to our first Candlelight Processional. We saw Exposè, Smashmouth, and Survivor concerts at Epcot. We stayed at new resorts including Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas Kidani Village, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, and the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. We ate at many new restaurants. And we ate a lot of Disney popcorn thanks to the refillable buckets. 😀
Well, we had to come home eventually. The two of us just returned from an awesome 10-night Christmas-themed vacation to Walt Disney World. (And the countdown has begun for our return in April!)
We had not visited the Walt Disney World Resort during the Christmas season since 2013, so I made it a priority to get into the holiday spirit while we were there. We did not attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but we did attend the Candlelight Processional, visited Sunset Seasons Greetings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and took about a hundred photos of various Christmas trees at the resorts and parks.
Speaking of Christmas trees…
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is located in Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney), a shopping, restaurant, and entertainment district on Walt Disney World property that does not require a ticket for entry. (On our most recent visit in April, I barely recognized Disney Springs. So many new stores and restaurants since our last visit made it resemble an outlet mall in some parts. Only when we found the World of Disney store did it start to look like the Disney Springs of old.)
We visited Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in 2016, right before we boarded Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas cruise ship for our spring vacation.
