Souvenir Shopping Outside of the Parks

When we first started vacationing in Florida, we came home with a lot of souvenirs that we purchased at the theme parks. Christmas ornaments, pins, stuffed animals, art prints, hats, key chains, mugs, and numerous other odds and ends have made it the nearly 900 miles back to our house. As prices have gone up, we started visiting the two Disney outlet stores and places like Target and Walmart instead. Let’s go souvenir shopping!

We made a video at the Disney Character Warehouse at the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets, located at 8200 Vineland Avenue, Orlando. We seem to come here (and the other Disney outlet in the area) every trip now. (And I apologize for moving the camera so much, since I try not to film people’s faces too much. I promise to keep it more still next time.)

On the last day of our trip we also visited a Target store at Rolling Oaks Boulevard in Kissimmee. Target, Walmart, and even places like Walgreens in the area all have souvenir departments in their stores.

Of course there are t-shirts, at least 50-75% cheaper than what you would pay on Disney property.

Rain ponchos. $4 here, around $10 at the parks.

Dish towels and oven mitt sets. (I have the yellow Minnie Mouse towels in this photo and I bought the green Mickey towels for a gift.) I had my eye on an Alice in Wonderland dish towel set in the parks, but I wasn’t willing to pay $22 for it.

Post cards and magnets. We like to buy post cards sometimes, and write a mini trip report on them to send to ourselves.

Shot glasses (sometimes called toothpick holders in Disney speak) and 2018 frames.

Mugs and water bottles.

Pens, pencils, and notepads.

Autograph books here for $2.19. In the parks, around $13-$20.

Hats and various character masks and sunglasses.

A little bit of everything here. Luggage tags, antenna toppers, key chains, pins, and lanyards.

What if you’re also going to Universal Studios? There’s a little bit of Harry Potter merchandise here too.

And if you need a souvenir for your coworkers back at the office, you can pick up some general Florida merchandise here, including saltwater taffy.

As you can see, if you venture off Disney property you can save a lot of money on souvenirs.  We’re definitely going back to the outlets in April, but we may have to visit Target again too. I already see a key chain in one of my photos that I wish I would have bought. 😉
