Room Tour at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort
We showed you around Cabana Bay Beach Resort, but now let’s take a closer look at our room!
This standard room is located on the ground floor of the furthest out Americana Building before you get to the Bayside Tower and Universal’s Volcano Bay. It wasn’t a bad location, but it seemed like a looong walk from CityWalk after an evening at Halloween Horror Nights (I know, we could have taken the bus). If you’re planning a visit to Volcano Bay then you really can’t beat the location.
This was a map given to me at check-in by the front desk. You can see we were in building 6 Americana, right in front of the lazy river area. The Garden Walkway trail to CityWalk is circled by the Castaway building. The hours of bus service was listed as 6am-3:30am. We only took the bus once during our stay.
Some photos of the room:
The amenities in this standard room include a Cuisinart single coffee pod brewer with coffee, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, a “fridge” (it’s more like a glorified cooler), and an in-wall safe. We also took advantage of checking out of the room via the television, which I had not done in a hotel room before, but it was pretty quick and painless.
This room seemed pretty huge compared to a Disney value resort room. We did enjoy our stay, but like we said, it lacked a little of the liveliness that we always see at Disney resorts. We are looking forward to staying at a Universal deluxe resort sometime in the future!
